Word Specialist

Legal Assistant Mauricio A. Escobar got started in the legal field in 1983, working for Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe, a law firm in San Francisco, California, as a legal document specialist. Additionally, Mauricio translated documents from English to Spanish and served as liaison for several other attorneys with Spanish-speaking clients who needed an interpreter during interviews. Mauricio worked for Heller, Ehrman until 1999.

After transferring to the Sacramento area in 2001, Mauricio attended American River College, successfully completing eleven paralegal courses.  Mauricio’s work experience also includes working in the legal division of California Federal Bank, working at McDonough Holland & Allen PC, as a legal secretary and word processor, and working for a sole practitioner, senior attorney William P. Roscoe, III.

Mauricio feels that in working at the Law Office of Mary-Alice Coleman, he has found his calling in the legal field. Being the son of an influential union labor leader who fought tirelessly for the rights of the working class, he can relate to the work that is done at the firm, knowing that he is contributing and making a positive change in peoples lives. As a legal assistant, Mauricio works very closely with attorneys, law clerks and other support staff, providing assistance as needed. Mauricio enjoys the camaraderie and family atmosphere at the firm, along with the opportunities for growth and advancement that the firm provides.
